Bangladesh enjoyed a strong fourth day in the Galle Test. After a dominant bowling performance, the Tigers continued to impress with the bat.
While the dismissal of the well-set Shadman Islam was a minor setback, an unbeaten partnership between Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim has put Bangladesh in a commanding position to build a substantial lead by stumps.
At the close of play on Day 4 of the Galle Test, Bangladesh reached 177 for 3 in their second innings.
Shadman Islam was out for 76, but captain Shanto remains unbeaten on 56, with his partner Mushfiq on 22 not out. With a 10-run first-innings lead, Bangladesh's overall lead has now stretched to 187 runs.
