On Sunday, March 23, the Press Wing of the Chief Advisor of the interim government issued a press release confirming this information.

Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, the Chief Advisor’s Special Assistant for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, stated that the government is actively working to make internet services more affordable. One of the key initiatives includes lowering wholesale prices, leading to a 10% reduction in bandwidth costs at the international gateway level. Additionally, mobile operators will gain access to DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) facilities at the backbone level, potentially reducing telecom transmission costs by 39%.
