The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted widespread rainfall across several regions of the country over the 24-hour period commencing at 9 am on Tuesday.

According to the official morning bulletin issued by the Met Office, light to moderate rain or thundershowers featuring temporary gusty winds are expected to impact numerous locations throughout the Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

Meanwhile, isolated precipitation is forecast for a few areas across the Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Dhaka divisions.

Meteorologists added that isolated pockets nationwide could experience moderately heavy to heavy rainfall during this timeframe.

Despite the wet conditions, day and night temperatures are anticipated to remain virtually stable across the country.

Over the preceding 24 hours ending at 6 am Tuesday, Gopalganj recorded the highest cumulative rainfall in the country, measuring 61 millimeters.

In terms of extreme temperatures, Sayedpur, Chandpur, and Mymensingh jointly registered the nation's peak temperature on Monday at 36 degrees Celsius, whereas Sylhet reported the lowest temperature on Tuesday morning at 23.2 degrees Celsius.

In the capital, sunset on Tuesday is scheduled for 6:35 pm, with sunrise on Wednesday set for 5:32 am.
