The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast that precipitation is expected to persist nationwide over the upcoming five-day span starting from 9 am on Saturday, driven by a moderately active monsoon across the country.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," indicated a standard advisory issued by the meteorological bureau.

Both daytime and nocturnal temperatures are projected to hold steady across the territory.

A low-pressure system has materialized over the northwest region of the Bay of Bengal alongside neighboring coastal zones of West Bengal and northern Odisha, with expectations to track toward the west-northwest.

The baseline of the monsoon trough stretches across Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, the heart of the low-pressure zone, and onward to Assam via the southern sector of Bangladesh.

Monsoon conditions remain moderately vigorous over the mainland and intensely strong above the northern expanse of the Bay of Bengal.
