BR-28 rice which was sold at Tk 56 last week, today it is selling at Tk 60. Besides, per kg miniket was seen to be sold at Tk 70 to Tk 72, Nazirshail Tk 70 to Tk 75 and Basmati at Tk 90-95. Retailers say there is nothing they can do. They have to buy all kinds of rice from Godown by paying Tk 200-330 more per bag. They are bound to sell at the same price as they are buying.
After hovering at Tk 170-180 for three weeks, the price of broiler chicken has again jumped to 200 taka. Traders say that the price of chicken has increased due to continuous rains for several days. But the buyers claim that the traders are increasing the price as they want because the buyers are leaving the other meat in the market and are leaning towards the common broiler chicken.
