Train Service Resumes after 12 Hour's Suffering

The Panchagarh Express train derailed near Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital stopping the train movement for a long time. After the rescue, trains started running on Friday morning (October 25), but the railway authorities said that the departure of the train was still delayed.

Passengers have suffered due to the disruption of the train schedule.

The train starts at noon on Friday. However, the Railways has announced that the ticket money will be refunded to those who have canceled their journeys due to the long-term suspension of trains.

Some concerned said that the Panchagarh Express derailed at the Kamalapur station area around 12:30 pm on Thursday. As a result, the train stopped.

Kamalapur station manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar said that the rescue work has been completed. However, the lines of platforms 1, 2, 3, and 4 are closed due to the recovery of Panchagarh Express coaches. Trying to clear them.

Regarding the departure of the train, he said that the trains are not leaving at the scheduled time. Four pairs of trains have come and gone since night. By now several trains are waiting to leave. The railway authorities informed about the possible delay by sending SMS to the passengers' mobiles from night onwards.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhaka Railway Police Station (Kamalapur) Zainal Abedin said that the schedule of train movement has been disrupted due to the derailment of the Panchagarh Express compartment. But now the train is coming and going as usual.

Passengers have suffered due to train schedule disruption. Kamalapur station was especially crowded to go to various destinations from Dhaka. Some said that they were in trouble due to the delay in leaving the train. However, they have been assured by the railways that the train will leave soon.
