ACC Search Committee Formed by Govt

Bangladesh's interim government formed a five-member search committee headed by Supreme Court Appellate Division justice Md Rezaul Haque to recommend names for the posts of chairman and commissioners of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

A gazette notification was issued on Sunday (November 10) signed by cabinet secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid in this regard.

The members of the search committee are - High Court Division Justice Farah Mahbub, Auditor General and Controller Md Nurul Islam, Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Professor Mobasser Monem and immediate past Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain.

It is said in the notification that the inquiry committee will perform duties and functions as per Section 7 of the Anti-Corruption Commission Appointment Act, 2004. The Cabinet Division will provide necessary secretarial support to the Inquiry Committee in carrying out its functions.
