Although there will be no celebratory festival, preparations are in full swing to deliver textbooks to students on the first day of the new year. To achieve this, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) is working tirelessly around the clock.

Confirming the matter, NCTB Chairman Dr. A.K.M. Riazul Hasan told the media that textbooks will be handed over to students on the first day of the year. However, there will be no additional expenditure on hosting a festival.

He added, "If everything goes according to plan, textbooks for grades one to five will be delivered between December 15 and 20. For grades six to ten, we aim to deliver the main five books by December 20. This will ensure that 75% of the books are supplied by December 20."

Dr. Hasan further stated, "Our target is to complete 90% of the textbook delivery by December 25. The remaining books will be sent during the first week of January. For secondary-level textbooks, we have assigned the printing of 10 million books directly to the Army Printing Press using the Direct Purchase Method (DPM) to expedite the process."

According to NCTB sources, the total number of books for this year is approximately 400 million. This includes 23.1 million for Ebtedayee (primary-level madrasas) and secondary madrasa levels and 92 million for primary education.

Since 2010, free textbooks have traditionally been distributed with a celebratory festival on the first day of the year. While this tradition will not continue this time, students will still receive their books on the first day of the new academic year.
