Police asked to remain alert throughout country

Bangladesh police headquarters ordered police field commanders (field level officers designated to SP/DC) to remain alert on pretext of gruesome series bomb attacks in Sri Lanka. Although prior order was given to heighten security on the occasion of holy Shab-e-Barat and Easter Sunday. The new order came in today (Sunday) after the Sri Lanka incident.

Assistant Inspector General of Police headquarters Md. Sohel Rana confirmed the matter and said, order was given to the field commanders to remain alert throughout the country including Dhaka. Police force is prepared so that anybody cannot carry out sabotage activities keeping ahead Shab-e-Barat and Easter Sunday. Check posts will be setup for searching. But there is no threat or concern of attack centering the two religious festivals.

Mentionable, at least 156 people were killed and more than four hundred people were injured in a devastating series bomb attacks in six places including capital Colombo in Sri Lanka on Sunday morning. The attacks were carried out at three churches and three hotels while ongoing programs of Easter Sunday, the religious festival of Christian community.
