Now Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar asked to hoist great danger signal 9

After issuing great danger signal number 10 for Payra and Mongla seaports, the Bangladesh Meteorological Directorate has asked Chattogram seaport and Cox’s Bazar to hoist great danger signal number 9.

Meteorologist Dr. Mohammad Abul Kalam Mallik delivered the information in a special notice (serial number 32) on Wednesday morning.

The special notice said, Chattogram seaport and Cox’s Bazar have been asked to lower the signal number 6 and also asked to hoist great danger signal number 9. Coastal districts Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar, their offshore islands and chars will be under coverage of great danger signal number 9.

According to the met office, at 9 am the cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’ was situated at 525 kilometers southwest of Chattogram port, 515 kilometers southwest of Cox’s Bazar, 345 kilometers southwest of Mongla seaport and 370 kilometers southwest of Payra seaport. ‘Amphan’ may pass through India’s West Bengal coast along with Bangladesh coast by the evening of Wednesday through the Sundarbans.
