Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the interim government, has departed from Doha, Qatar, en route to Rome, Italy, to attend the funeral of Pope Francis.
According to a statement from the Chief Advisor's press wing, he left Qatar on Friday morning (April 25). He is expected to arrive in Rome at 2:15 pm local time, where he will be received by the Bangladeshi Ambassadors to Italy and the Vatican City.
The funeral of Pope Francis is scheduled to take place on Saturday (April 25). Shafiqul Alam confirmed that the Chief Advisor does not have any other official meetings planned during this trip. He is likely to return to Bangladesh on Sunday (April 26).
It is to be noted that, Pope Francis passed away last Monday at the Vatican at the age of 88. He served as the head of the Roman Catholic Church for the past 12 years.
