Sheikh Hasina’s trial should serve as an example so that no fascist can rise again, said Mohammad Nahid Islam, the convener of the newly formed political party, Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP).
He further stated, “During the July Revolution, hundreds of students, youths, and people from various professions sacrificed their lives against the fascist regime. Please pray for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.”
Jatiya Nagorik Party’s Member Secretary Akhter Hossain and other central leaders were also present at the event.
Earlier, at 8 AM today, NCP leaders and activists paid their respects at the National Memorial. With this event, the party has officially commenced its political journey.
Notably, on February 28, Jatiya Nagorik Party was officially launched as a new political party through a massive rally at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka. Following this, a 217-member convening committee was approved.
