Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has called on Chinese investors to explore Bangladesh's vast business opportunities, highlighting the country's strategic advantages and economic potential.
Speaking at an investment dialogue with Chinese business leaders at The Presidential in Beijing, Prof. Yunus emphasized Bangladesh's position as the world's second-largest manufacturer of ready-made garments (RMG) after China. He pointed out the country's prime geographic location, which makes it an ideal hub for regional trade and commerce.
He also underscored the importance of connectivity with neighboring landlocked regions, such as Nepal, Bhutan, and India's seven northeastern states, to foster economic growth.
Highlighting Bangladesh's human resource potential, Prof. Yunus noted that despite being one of the most densely populated nations, the country boasts a youthful workforce full of energy, creativity, and ambition. He stressed the need to harness this untapped potential, stating, "There is no shortage of young talent—both men and women—ready to drive business and innovation."
Discussing Bangladesh's recent economic transformation, Prof. Yunus described the nation as an emerging powerhouse, with its dynamic youth playing a crucial role in shaping the future of trade and commerce.
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun also addressed the gathering, alongside Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, Adviser for Power, Energy, and Infrastructure Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Chief Adviser's High Representative Khalilur Rahman, Principal Coordinator on SDG Affairs Lamiya Morshed, and CA's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.
