Mahi's nomination cancelled

The returning officer has canceled the nomination of actress Mahia Mahi as an independent candidate for Rajshahi-1 (Tanor-Godagari) constituency.

Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed canceled her nomination paper after verifying on Sunday (December 3) morning.

DC said, the names and signatures of all the voters given by Mahia Mahi as an independent candidate were not found to be correct. Usually 10 voters of a candidate are verified. The information of three of them was not found.

The returning officer also said that the information of two of these three was not correct. 

Among them, they found a voter of Chapainawabganj. 

Hence, her candidature was cancelled.
