Ratan Tata's Funeral: Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao Pay Last Respect to Icon
Ratan Tata passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai aged 86 on Wednesday. On Monday, he shared that he was going to the hospital for an age-related check-up.
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan along with his former wife and director Kiran Rao arrived at Mumbai’s National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) to pay respects to Ratan Tata, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86. The actor said he will always be cherished for his contribution to the country.

On Thursday afternoon, Aamir was spotted arriving to pay his last respects to Ratan Tata with his ex-wife. He was seen wearing a grey short kurta along with black pants, while Kiran wore a white top with black trousers.
He was seen merging in the crowd to pay his respects to Ratan Tata. They were in a somber mood.
While exiting the venue, Aamir shared his tribute to the icon, saying, “Today is a sad day for all of us, and the whole country. What he has done for the nation through his company under his leadership is priceless. He was a rare person. We all will miss him a lot”.
Kiran also spoke to the media stationed outside the venue and remembered spending time with him. “We were lucky to spend some time with him. He was a good soul, and he is no longer with us. He has done a lot for us”.
Ratan Tata dies
On Wednesday, Ratan Tata, chairman of the Tata group for over two decades, died at 11.30 pm at Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai. A Padma Vibhushan recipient, he had been in intensive care at the hospital since Monday. Early on Monday, he posted a note on social media asserting there was no cause for concern regarding his health and that he was undergoing check-ups for age-related medical conditions amid reports of his admission to a hospital.
Ratan Tata's body was on Thursday morning taken from his house in a hearse, decked with white flowers, to the NCPA in south Mumbai where it would be kept for people to pay their last respects. His last rites will be performed at Mumbai’s Worli Crematorium. He was accorded a state funeral by Maharashtra.

Veteran Actor Jamal Uddin Hossain Passes Away
Ekushey Medalist Jamal Uddin Hossain is no more. The actor passed away on Saturday (October 12) at Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, Canada. He was 81 years old.
The actor was living in America with his daughter for a long time. A few days ago, while visiting his son in Canada, he fell ill.
Actor-drama director Shamsul Alam Bakul confirmed the news of Jamal Uddin Hossain's death in America.
According to family sources, Jamal Uddin was rushed to the hospital when he developed respiratory problems. Later, when the condition worsened, Jamaluddin Hossain was taken on life support.
His son Tasfin Hossain Tapu is an assistant professor of finance at Mount Royal University in Calgary.
Jamaluddin Hossain started acting in stage plays in the mid-seventies. This member of the civic theater community later worked in television dramas and films. His wife Roshan Ara Hossain is also an actress. Jamaluddin Hossain has been very irregular in acting for the past 15 years. He has been living permanently in the United States for the past 7 years with his daughter.
Jamal Uddin Hossain once left the 'Nagorik Natya Sampradaya' and established the 'Nagorik Natyangan Ensemble'. He was a presidium member of the Bangladesh Group Theater Federation. Acted in many popular dramas on BTV. He directed many stage plays.

Shakib's 'Dorod' Set to Release on November 15: Hindi Version in the Works?
The release date is fast approaching for the much-anticipated film “Dorod”, starring Shakib Khan and Sonal Chauhan. Director Anonno Mamun is very excited about the project, and the film has already received certification approval. It is set to hit theaters next month. However, Mamun has shared another exciting thought regarding the film’s release.
Known for surprising his fans, Anonno Mamun previously teased on Facebook, saying, “Thank you for your comments. I’m glad this is the first time there’s been so much discussion about a movie’s plot.”

He posted, “I want to release Dorod in both Bengali and Hindi in Bangladesh... Singer Liam Payne Dies After Falling from Balcony
British singer and former member of the famous band One Direction, Liam Payne, has passed away. He reportedly fell from the fourth-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday, October 16.
It is suspected that Payne lost control due to the influence of drugs or alcohol and jumped from the balcony. However, police have not yet confirmed whether his fall was accidental or substance-related.
Alberto Crescenti, head of the emergency medical services, told local TV that Payne sustained severe injuries.
The singer had traveled to Argentina for a concert on October 2 and had been staying in the country since then.
Following news of Payne's death, fans gathered outside the hotel in the capital city.
Payne was known as a composer and guitarist for One Direction, which disbanded in 2016. Since then, the members have pursued solo careers.

Netflix Adds Millions of Subscribers But Growth Slows
Netflix on Thursday said it added more than five million subscribers in the recently ended quarter but signaled slowing growth. BSS news.
The streaming juggernaut said it ended September with 282.7 million subscribers, reporting a profit of $2.4 billion on revenue that jumped 15 percent to $9.8 billion compared with the same period a year earlier.
Netflix said it continued to build up its US advertising business, which is on track to launch in Canada by the end of this year and in other countries in 2025.
"We've delivered on our plan to reaccelerate our business, and we're excited to finish the year strong with a great slate (of shows)," the streaming television powerhouse said in a letter to investors.
Shows set for release on Netflix this quarter include a second season of the global hit "Squid Game."
The dystopian Korean horror tale about a fictional, deadly game show remains by far the most-watched Netflix TV series ever.
Netflix this quarter will also stream a boxing match-up between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul as well as a pair of US National Football League games on Christmas.
The streamer said that membership on the ads plan grew 35 percent quarter-over-quarter and accounted for over half of sign-ups in countries where it's available.
Emarketer senior analyst Ross Benes warned that Netflix will need to be careful not to degrade the experience for viewers as it weaves ads into programming, and forecast that US ad revenue would be a small fraction of the money the company takes in.
Netflix said the average amount of time spent watching its platform grew in the recently-ended quarter, touting a string of hits including "The Perfect Couple", "Emily in Paris", and "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F".
One Direction Singer Liam Payne Dies Aged 31
Buenos Aires police on Wednesday said former One Direction singer Liam Payne was found dead outside a hotel after falling from his balcony.
Police discovered the body upon arrival at the hotel where they were answering a prior call about an "aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol."
Police release 911 transcript
Police later released a transcript of the 911 call for help, where the caller from the hotel says that an "intoxicated" guest is "breaking the whole room" when he's conscious.
"And we need you to send someone urgently because, well, I don't know if the guest's life is at risk. He is in a room with a balcony," the caller said.
Hotel staff made at least two phone calls to emergency services before Payne fell to his death.
Police said that, once they had arrived, "total disorder was observed, with various elements broken," in Payne's room.
Liam Payne's family say they're 'heartbroken'
Liam Payne's family said in a statement that they were "heartbroken" to learn the news about Payne's death.
"Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny, and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time," they said via the BBC.
Former One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson also posted a tribute online.
"I am beyond devastated to be writing this but yesterday I lost a brother. Liam was somebody I looked up to every day, such a positive, funny, and kind soul," he said.
The band's singer, Harry Styles, wrote: "I will miss him always, my lovely friend."
What we know about the singer's death
Police said in a statement that the 31-year-old fell from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in the Argentine capital's fashionable Palermo neighborhood, resulting in "extremely serious injuries."
Medics had confirmed his death on the spot, the statement said.
Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency medical system, told Argentina's Todo Noticias television channel that authorities were investigating the circumstances and conducting an autopsy.
He declined to elaborate on the incident, including whether Payne had jumped from the balcony or fell accidentally.
Pablo Policicchio, the spokesperson for the Security Ministry of Buenos Aires municipality, said in a statement to the Associated Press news agency that Payne "had thrown himself from the balcony of his room."
After the news was released, fans quickly gathered outside the hotel. Later, they started placing candles and other tributes in the singer's memory.
Payne had been open about his struggle with alcoholism, posting a video in July 2023 to his YouTube channel saying he had been sober for six months after receiving treatment.
Payne recently attended a concert by his former bandmate Niall Horan in Buenos Aires during his trip to Argentina and his social media accounts remained active, even on Wednesday.
Rapid rise to fame after 'X Factor' discovery
Payne shot to prominence as one of five band members of One Direction, which got its big break in 2010 when the various members auditioned for the British singing competition series "The X Factor."
Each singer failed to progress as a solo act, but the judges assembled Payne, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson into a boy band that would become one of the most successful in the world.
They became known for romantic hits like "What Makes You Beautiful" and had six Top 10 hits on the Billboard charts by the time they disbanded in 2016. Officially the group only ever called their pause a hiatus.
After the group disbanded, Payne pursued a solo career, releasing the album "LP1" in 2019. His last release was the single "Teardrops," in March.
Payne had a 7-year-old son with his former girlfriend, musician Cheryl who was known as Cheryl Cole when she performed with pop act Girls Aloud.
