Eid is a time of joy and celebration, and every year, new films hit theaters to add to the festivities. This Eid, six movies were released, including two starring Shakib Khan. One of them, Antoratma, did not receive much promotion from the beginning. Neither Shakib Khan nor the other cast members were actively involved in marketing the film.

Despite this, Antoratma was released in 21 theaters, including both single screens and multiplexes. However, Star Cineplex has now removed the film from its schedule.

On Wednesday (April 3), it was reported that Antoratma had been pulled from Star Cineplex just a day after its release due to a lack of audience interest. The movie is also underperforming in single-screen theaters.

Directed by Wazed Ali, Antoratma was initially screened in two branches of Star Cineplex, the country's largest multiplex chain. It had two daily showings at Bashundhara City and Sony Square until April 3. However, due to low audience turnout, the movie was removed a day earlier than planned.

Mezbah Ahmed, Senior Marketing Officer of Star Cineplex, explained, "If a movie doesn't attract viewers, we remove it and allocate more screenings to films that are in demand. With Antoratma being removed, other films now have more showtimes. This includes Borbod, another Shakib Khan starrer, which has received additional screenings."

Meanwhile, Dagi, another Eid release, marks Afran Nisho's return to the big screen after two years. Since its release on Eid day, the film has been drawing houseful audiences in multiplexes, bringing joy to the entire team.

Just a day after its release, Alpha-I, the production company behind Dagi, announced that due to high demand, the film’s screenings had increased from 34 to 44 per day in multiplexes.

Similarly, Jongli, directed by M Rahim, has also seen an increase in showtimes following its release. Zahid Hasan Abhi, the head of Tiger Media, confirmed the news.
