Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, has reaffirmed the nation's resolve to defend the sacrifices made by its founding fathers. Speaking at the passing out parade ceremony at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul, General Munir highlighted that the country's creation was the result of immense and unparalleled sacrifices, and the military remains fully committed to its defense.

Emphasising the ideological foundations of Pakistan, General Munir stated that Muslims and Hindus are fundamentally different in religion, culture, traditions, thought, and aspirations. "The two-nation theory rests on the belief that Muslims and Hindus are two separate nations," he said, underlining the distinct identity that led to the establishment of Pakistan.

"Our forefathers made tremendous sacrifices for this country. We know how to defend it," he asserted.

Earlier at the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also addressed rising tensions with India, offering Pakistan's willingness to engage in a "neutral, transparent, and credible" investigation into the recent Pahalgam attack.

Shehbaz condemned India's "perpetual blame game," calling for an end to accusations made without credible investigations. "The recent tragedy in Pahalgam is another example of this repeated pattern," he said. Reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to peace, he stressed that Pakistan is open to any impartial inquiry into the incident.

The Prime Minister also criticised India for levelling "baseless allegations" against Pakistan without presenting verifiable evidence. He reiterated Pakistan's unwavering support for Kashmiris' right to self-determination, calling Kashmir the "jugular vein" of Pakistan.

Addressing concerns over India's reported suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty following the Pahalgam incident, Shehbaz warned that any attempt to block or divert Pakistan's share of water would provoke a full-scale response. "Water is our lifeline, and a vital national interest," he declared.

Highlighting Pakistan's sacrifices in the fight against global terrorism, Shehbaz noted that the country has suffered over 90,000 casualties and sustained $600 billion in economic losses in its efforts to promote global peace and stability.
