Shakib Al Hasan Set to Return to the Field

After missing out on the Champions Trophy, Shakib Al Hasan is finally making his return to competitive cricket. The star all-rounder was unable to rejoin the national team and faced a bowling ban, forcing him to sit out of several leagues despite registering for them. However, he is now set to step back onto the field.

The Asian Legends League, featuring five teams, is scheduled to begin in India on March 10. Shakib will be representing Asian Stars, who will play against Afghanistan Pathans in the tournament opener.

Several notable cricketers will join him, including Bangladesh's Alok Kapali, Sri Lanka's Dilshan Munaweera, Lahiru Thirimanne, Shehan Jayasuriya, India’s Kedar Jadhav, Shahbaz Nadeem, and Afghanistan’s Hamid Hassan.

Bangladesh will also have its own team in the tournament, Bangladesh Tigers, featuring players like Mohammad Ashraful, Naeem Islam, and Tushar Imran. Veteran opener Tamim Iqbal, who recently retired from international cricket, was expected to join but has opted out of this edition.

The Bangladesh Tigers squad also includes Nadif Chowdhury, Ariful Haque, Ziaur Rahman, Shuvagata Hom, Dhiman Ghosh, Mehedi Maruf, Abul Hasan Raju, Mukhtar Ali, Elias Sunny, Jubair Hossain, Shafiul Islam, and Mohammad Nazimuddin.

A major highlight of the tournament will be on March 12, when Shakib and Kapali will face off against Bangladesh Tigers, making for a thrilling contest that fans won’t want to miss.
