Bangladesh was wrapped up for 247 in its first innings of the second and final cricket Test against Sri Lanka at Sinhalese Sports Club ground in Colombo today.
They survived just 49 balls after resuming the Day 2 at 220-8. Taijul Islam scored 33 and was instrumental in helping the side add 27 runs to their overnight total.
Asitha Fernando gave the side a breakthrough in just the fourth over of the day by dismissing Ebadot Hossain for 8.
Taijul was the last batter out when Sonal Dinusha got the better of him to end with 3-22 on his debut Test innings.
Fernando also claimed 3-51 while Vishwa Fernando took 2-45.
Opener Shadman Islam was the top scorer for Bangladesh in the first innings with 46. Mushfiqur Rahim (35), Liton Das (34) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (31) got the start but couldn't carry the innings, a thing that went against Bangladesh eventually.
