Portugal have once again lifted the Nations League trophy, beating defending champions Spain 5-3 in a penalty shootout.
Cristiano Ronaldo's side had previously won the inaugural Nations League tournament in 2019, overcoming the Netherlands.
In the final on Sunday (June 8), both teams were evenly matched during regular time, with the game ending in a 2-2 draw. The score remained unchanged even after extra time.
Portugal then defeated Spain 5-3 in the penalty shootout, becoming the first team to win the UEFA Nations League multiple times.
Martín Zubimendi put the defending champions, Spain, ahead in the 21st minute. Five minutes later, the Portuguese equalized through a goal from Nuno Mendes.
Just before the end of the first half, Mikel Oyarzabal restored Spain's lead. Cristiano Ronaldo headed in the equalizer for Portugal in the 61st minute.
