After rainfall in the early part of Baishakh (mid-April), temperatures have risen again across all regions of the country. On Thursday, the highest temperature recorded was over 39°C in Rajshahi.

A heatwave has been sweeping through various parts of the country for four consecutive days. Today, one division and six districts are experiencing heatwaves, and the Meteorological Department has warned that it may continue.

On Friday (April 25), mild to moderate heatwaves are affecting Rajshahi Division along with the districts of Tangail, Manikganj, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Jashore, and Chuadanga. The heatwave conditions are likely to continue.

According to the latest 24-hour forecast starting from 9 am today, some parts of Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may experience temporary gusty winds, lightning, and isolated showers or thunderstorms. 

Elsewhere, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies. Day and night temperatures are likely to remain nearly the same across the country, with ongoing heatwave conditions persisting.

For Saturday (April 26), the forecast from 9 am for the following 24 hours indicates that isolated places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions could see temporary gusty winds along with lightning and brief showers or thunderstorms. Other parts of the country will likely remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies.
