Today is Saturday, February 25. One of the darkest days in the history of Bangladesh after independence. On this day in 2009, some mutineer members of the then Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), now Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), ransacked the headquarters.
74 people including 57 army officers lost their lives. Then February 25th became marked as 'Pilkhana Tragedy Day'.
Today, the 14 years of this tragic incident.
To celebrate the day, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and bangladesh Army have taken various programmes.
According to the program of the day, Prayers will be organized under the management of all regions, institutions, sectors and units at BGB headquarters in Pilkhana and all mosques to seek forgiveness for the soul of martyrs.
BGB regimental flags will be flown at half-mast at all installations and members will wear black badges to mark the day.
