The court has granted 7-day remand to Shahriar Kabir, president of the 'Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee', Shyamal Dutta, editor of 'Dainik Bhorer Kagoj', and Mozammel Babu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 'Ekattor TV'. They were arrested in separate murder cases.
On Tuesday (September 17), the police produced them in Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court and applied for a 10-day remand. After the hearing, Md. Sanaullah, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka, granted a 7-day remand.
It has been reported that the court has granted a 7-day remand to Ekattor TV CEO Mozammel Haque Babu and Ekattorer Ghatak-Dalal Nirmul Committee Chairman Shahriar Kabir in the case of Ramna Model police station filed about the killing of domestic worker Liza during the anti-discrimination student movement.
Apart from this, the court has granted a 7-day remand to Shyamal Dutta, the editor of Dainik Bhorer Kagoj on the charge of killing Fazlu by shooting during the public uprising. The case was filed at Bhashantek police station.
Earlier on Monday (September 16), Mozammel Babu and Shyamal Dutta were arrested from Mymensingh border area, and Shahriar Kabir from his Banani residence.
