Asaduzzaman Asad, the former member of Parliament of Rajshahi-3 Constituency, has been arrested by RAB in a case filed in connection with the student attack on July 19 during the anti-discrimination student movement.

He was arrested from the capital's Baridhara area. An official of Rab's legal and media wing confirmed the news of his arrest.
RAB officials also said that the process is underway to hand him over to Boalia Police Station in Rajshahi.

Asad was accused in several cases following the ouster of the Awami League government on August 5.
