All public and private educational institutions across the country are reopening today (Sunday) following an 11-day vacation. This extended break combined holidays for Durga Puja, Fateha-e-Yazdaham, Lakshmi Puja, and Probarona Purnima, along with the regular weekend holidays (Friday and Saturday).

According to the Ministry of Education's annual calendar, the Durga Puja holidays began on October 9, followed by the Fateha-e-Yazdaham holiday on October 15 and the holidays for Lakshmi Puja and Probarona Purnima on October 16. The vacation extended until October 17 (Thursday), with the weekend holidays on October 18 and 19 ensuring a continuous break of 11 days.

Rokonuzzaman Sheikh, the assistant headmaster of Motijheel Ideal School and College, told Dhaka Post that the school is reopening today after the 11-day break. All students and guardians have been notified to ensure children return to school. Additionally, given the ongoing dengue season, everyone has been advised to remain vigilant. “We have taken all necessary steps to keep the school premises clean and safe,” he added.
