Govt Appoints New DC in 8 Districts

The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in eight districts of the country. The districts are Jaipurhat, Rajshahi, Rajbari, Sirajganj, Kushtia, Dinajpur, Shariatpur and Natore.

A notification was issued in this regard from the Field Administration-2 Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday (October 30).

The notification was signed by Deputy Secretary Muhammad Ibrahim. He said that the mentioned officers of the BCS (Administration) cadre have been posted as Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate in the district mentioned next to their names. The notification also mentions that this order issued in the public interest will be effective immediately.

Afroza Akter Chowdhury, deputy head of the Planning Division, has been appointed to Joypurhat, Afia Akhtar, zonal settlement officer at Chattogram Land Record and Survey Department, to Rajshahi, Mohammad Jahidul Islam Mia, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Shipping, to Rajbari, and Muhammad Nazrul Islam, additional director at the Directorate of Government Accommodation, to Sirajganj as deputy commissioners.

Md Toufiqur Rahman, deputy secretary at the Finance Division, Md Rafiqul Islam, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Mohammad Ashraf Uddin, director at the Neuro-Development Disabilities Protection Trust, and Asma Shaheen, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, have been made DCs to Kushtia, Dinajpur, Shariatpur, and Natore respectively.
