Amount Deposits in July Shaheed Smriti Foundation So Far
The July Shaheed Smriti Foundation's third central executive council meeting was held at the State Guest House Jamuna on Monday (December 2) at 6 pm. Chief Advisor Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus presided over the meeting, which approved the income and expenditure accounts.
Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum, Social Welfare Advisor Sharmin S Murshid, July Shaheed Smriti Foundation Chief Executive Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha, and General Secretary Sarjis Alam, along with many others, were present in the meeting.
The meeting, which lasted for about two and a half hours, reviewed the progress of the decisions of the second meeting's minutes, discussed the activities of the special cell related to the mass uprising and the foundation, and discussed the formation of a medical support team, ICT support team, and legal support team to help seriously ill patients.
In addition, the meeting approved the revised foundation constitution, the formation of the executive council, and the income and expenditure accounts.
It was informed in the meeting that A total of Tk107,75,61,240 has been deposited in the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation as of November 30.
Of this, Tk18,25,00000 has been provided to 365 martyr families and Tk7,86,70,190 to 775 injured people, i.e. a total of Tk26,11,70,190 has been provided to 1,140 people through Bkash and crosscheck.
On behalf of the foundation, a medical support team has been formed for seriously ill patients with Brigadier General Dr Md Jalal Uddin, former director of Chattogram Medical College Hospital. He presented a special presentation on what needs to be done regarding healthcare.
He said that so far, nine of the injured in the July uprising have been sent abroad for better treatment. Of those, six have been sent to Thailand and three to Singapore. Two more will be sent abroad for treatment within a few days.
He also said that the process of sending seven more injured people to Turkey for better treatment is underway.
So far, several special medical teams have arrived from abroad to treat the injured. Of those, three experts from Nepal, two experts from the UK, one expert from France, six experts from Thailand, and 10 experts from China have come to Bangladesh to visit specialized hospitals, perform surgeries, and provide necessary medical services.
