Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman paid a courtesy call on Chief Advisor of the Interim Government Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus today. The meeting took place at the State Guest House Jamuna on Wednesday (March 19).
During the meeting, the Chief of Army Staff briefed the Chief Advisor on the overall security situation of the country and the ongoing activities of the army. They also discussed various steps taken by the army for the development and stability of the country.
During the discussion, the Chief of Army Staff briefed the Chief Advisor on his recent visit to the Central African Republic. The Chief of Army Staff expressed hope that this visit will play a helpful role in enhancing relations and increasing military cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, the Chief of Army Staff briefed the Chief Advisor on the evaluation and recommendations of the recently concluded high-ranking board regarding ensuring justice for various deprived army officers and the progress of the ongoing high-ranking board for JCOs and other ranks of army personnel dismissed for various reasons.
Finally, he also briefed him about various steps taken by the Bangladesh Army to treat the students and people injured in the July-August mass uprising.
At this time, the Chief Advisor praised the role and contribution of the army and gave necessary guidance to the army in future activities.
At the same time, he expressed hope that the army will continue to perform its duties with professionalism and dedication to ensure the sovereignty and security of the country.
