Court Issues Arrest Warrant Against Shakib Al Hasan
A court has issued an arrest warrant against former Member of Parliament and cricketer Shakib Al Hasan in a check dishonour case filed by IFIC Bank.
This order was passed by the court of Dhaka's Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman on Sunday (January 19).
Earlier, Shahibur Rahman filed a case against Shakib and three others on behalf of IFIC Bank on December 15. Subsequently, the court issued a summons against the accused and directed them to appear on January 18.
The other accused in the case are Gazi Shahagir Hossain, Managing Director of Shakib's owned Agro Farm Limited, and the company's directors, Imdadul Haque and Malaika Begum.
According to the case details, Agro Farm had taken loans from the Banani branch of IFIC Bank for business purposes. Shakib's company issued two checks for repayment. However, the checks were dishonoured due to insufficient funds. The total amount of the two checks is BDT 4 crore 14 lakh 57 thousand.
