The lowest temperature of the country in the current season was recorded 5.1 degree Celsius in Dinajpur on Sunday.
Meteorologist Omar Faruq of the Meteorological Department confirmed the matter to Rtv online.
He said, the temperature was recorded 5.1 degree Celsius in Dinajpur on Sunday morning. So far it is the lowest temperature recorded in this year. The temperature came down to 5.8 degree Celsius in Chuadanga and Rajshahi on Saturday. It also came down to 10.2 degree Celsius in the capital at 6 am on Sunday.
Observer of Dinajpur Meteorological Department Md. Azadul Haque Mondal said, the lowest temperature was recorded 5.1 degree Celsius in Dinajpur on Sunday. The cold wave which is blowing over Dinajpur will continue for more two to three days.
The sun cannot be seen even in the noon in Dinajpur. Public life has fallen into great sufferings following the last several days’ cold wave. It is also hampering the day to day affairs of the common people. The laborers and displaced people are in great sufferings due to severity of cold. They are trying to drive away the cold by burning dry leaves and straw.
Besides, children and old aged people are being affected by different kinds of diseases. Patients’ number has increased in the local hospitals with cold related complaints. Physicians also advised people to remain alert in this severe cold.
The weather forecast said, there is no chance of changing the weather in the coming five days. Along with the cold wave the country’s weather could be dry with cloudy sky. The temperature in the night may decrease and in the day it may be unchanged.
On Saturday the highest temperature was recorded 26.2 degree Celsius in Teknaf and lowest was recorded 5.8 degree Celsius in Chuadanga and Rajshahi.
