Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwary said, law and order preparation is excellent and better than ever. The environment that is prevailing, if that continues then we will be able to present a beautiful election to the nation.
He said this after holding a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda at the Nirbachan Bhaban at Agargaon in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
IGP said, we have informed the CEC and the Commission about our plan regarding the election. We have shared our latest situation and own plan of police centering the national parliament election with the Election Commission.
There is no control of Election Commission over police administration- claiming BNP and Oikyafront’s such allegation as unreal he said, not only police, total administration is under control of Election Commission. Police are taking action after getting specific allegation.
Over BNP’s allegation of obstacle in campaign and arrest he said, police are taking action after getting specific complain. But there is nothing about the outspread allegation. We have taken action against many.
Additional IGP Mokhlesur Rahman, Special Branch chief Shahidul Islam, DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, DMP’s Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit chief Monirul Islam and Special Action Group Deputy Commissioner Pralay Kumar Joardar were present along with the IGP.
