A significant reshuffle has taken place within the Bangladesh Police. As per a new directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs, a total of 53 officers, including 19 Additional Deputy Inspectors General (ADIGs), have been simultaneously transferred and assigned new positions.
The transferred officers include 33 Superintendents of Police (SPs) and one Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP).
The changes were announced through two separate notifications issued by the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday, February 27. The notifications were signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Mahbubur Rahman.
One notification revealed that the Additional DIG of Mymensingh Range, Md. Abul Kalam Azad has been moved to APBN-1 in Dhaka. Additionally, ADIG Sardar Rokonuzzaman, who was serving at 8 APBN, has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Other notable transfers include Kh Faridul Islam from DMP to RAB and Muhammad Mahabubur Rahman from DMP to RAB, along with 21 other officers.
In the second notification, an Additional DIG at Police Headquarters, Raihan Uddin Khan, has been reassigned to the CID. SP Ahmedul Kabir, previously posted at BMP, has been appointed as the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) at Police Headquarters, while Abdullah Al Jahir has been appointed as AIG at the same department. Furthermore, Deputy Police Commissioner Mohammad Nazrul Islam of DMP has been transferred to the CID, alongside 32 other officers.
