Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, City Corporation is directed to relocate the chemical warehouses from Chawkbazar at the preliminary stage. They are preparing the list. At first from Chawkbazar and then from the whole old Dhaka chemical warehouses will be relocated.
He said these to the newsmen after visiting Churihatta area of Chawkbazar in old Dhaka on Saturday.
He said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given assent over the matter of relocating the illegal factories from Chawkbazar in old Dhaka. By this time Dhaka South City Corporation has begun activities to relocate the illegal factories.
Obaidul Quader said, works are going on considering three matters. Handover of dead bodies to the relatives. Ensuring treatment for the injured. And handover of dead bodies to the relatives through DNA tests for the people who are still missing.
