A British lawyer named Lord Karlyn has been appointed to counsel the lawyers of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who was sentenced to five years in jail in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the information at a press briefing held at party’s central political office at Naya Paltan on Tuesday.
He said that Lord Karlyn will counsel the lawyers of Khaleda Zia abiding international law.

Lord Karlyn has been involving in legal profession for a long time besides political involvement. He will arrive in Bangladesh if necessary.
Fakhrul also said that they are very happy getting the foreign lawyer.
