The Chief Advisor's Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, has stated that the entire world stands in support of building a new Bangladesh in the aftermath of the coup.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday (February 15) afternoon during a break in the first meeting of the National Consensus Commission with political parties, he emphasized the strong backing from both domestic and international communities.
"Since the July coup, we have been working towards shaping a new Bangladesh, and we have the full support of both the nation and the global community. Major world powers are asking what we need and assuring us that they stand by our side," said the Press Secretary.
He further explained that the interim government's journey had two phases: "The first six months marked the initial phase. Now, with the first meeting of the National Consensus Commission, the second phase has begun."
According to Shafiqul Alam, today's meeting, led by Dr Yunus, saw participation from around 100 political leaders and activists representing 26 parties and alliances. "Every invited party attended, and the Chief Advisor delivered an extensive speech,'' he added.
Earlier in the day, at around 3 pm, the National Consensus Commission, chaired by Chief Advisor and Commission President Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, convened its first meeting with political parties at the Foreign Service Academy to discuss state reforms.
