Relatives and victims of the July uprising have blocked the Shahbagh intersection in the capital to protest the discriminatory treatment of the injured. The blockade began around 1:30 pm on Monday, causing significant traffic disruptions in the area.
The protesters argue that the government has divided the injured into three categories—'A', 'B', and 'C'—with categories A and C receiving more support than category B, which they view as unfair. They demand that all injured participants be placed in the A or B categories, with only two classifications: injured and critically injured.
Additional demands include the establishment of a toll-free hotline for the injured in remote areas to ensure proper care and the introduction of new legislation to protect the rights of the injured. Many protesters also called for a government allowance to support all those harmed in the uprising.
