Leaders from various political parties and organisations gathered at the state guest house, Jamuna, on Sunday to attend a meeting with the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus.
Beginning at 5 pm, prominent figures started arriving at the residence of the Chief Adviser. Among them were former President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Mujahidul Islam Selim, Ganosamhati Andolon's Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki, Revolutionary Workers Party Secretary Saiful Haque, and National People's Front Coordinator Tipu Biswas.
Other political figures scheduled to attend included Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Colonel (Retd.) Oli Ahmed, Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, State Reform Movement's Chief Coordinator Hasnat Kaiyum, AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Monju, BSD Central Committee Advisor Khalequzzaman Bhuiyan, and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) General Secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmood Swapan.
A second phase of meetings is also planned, featuring another group of representatives. This includes Hefazat-e-Islam Secretary General Maulana Sajidur Rahman, Islami Andolon Bangladesh Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque, Khelafat Majlish Secretary General Ahmed Abdul Quader, Hefazat-e-Islam Joint Secretary General Maulana Azizul Haque Islamabadi, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Bangladesh Secretary General Maulana Manjurul Islam Afendi, Gana Adhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party Secretary General Maulana Musa Bin Izhar, and Islami Oikya Jote Secretary General Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Raji.
These meetings follow earlier discussions held on Saturday with leaders of the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizen Party (NCP), as part of an ongoing dialogue with various political groups.
