Dengue death crosses 1,600
At least eight people died from dengue in 24 hours till Monday morning. Of the eight deaths, four were reported in the capital.
Not less than 920 dengue patients were hospitalised in the 24-hour period, a data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) says.
Dengue has already taken at least 1,606 lives in this year and almost 309,087 more were being infected which had made this the deadliest year since the first recorded the epidemic in 2000.
A data from DGHS says, approximately 3,493 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.
Nationwide, a grand total of 303,988 patients have nearly been released from hospitals.
On the other hand, DGHS recorded 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries last year.
