Metro rail services resumes

After being stopped for 1 hour and 40 minutes due to a technical fault, the metro rail service has resumed. However, the stranded train arrived at Kawran Bazar.


Metrorail service resumed at 4:20 pm on Sunday (February 4).

Earlier, metro rail services stopped from 2.40 pm. Thousands of passengers suffered. Panic spread among many.

According to some sources, before arriving at Pallabi station at 2:37 pm, the lights and AC inside the train turned off suddenly. As a result, the metro rail movement stopped.


“Metro rail services were shut down at around 2:45pm because of a signal system issue,” Nazmul Islam Bhuiya, the public relations officer of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) confirmed the matter.
