A fire broke out on the Mohua Commuter Train heading to Mohanganj in Netrokona, disrupting rail communication between Dhaka and the Mymensingh division.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning (April 3) near Satkhamair railway station in Sreepur Upazila, Gazipur.
Mohammad Mamun, Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service, confirmed the incident.
According to Satkhamair railway station authorities, the fire started in the train’s power car. Station staff are working to extinguish the flames, while fire service personnel are also responding.
Deputy Assistant Director Mohammad Mamun stated that two fire service units from Sreepur arrived promptly and brought the fire under control.
No casualties have been reported so far.
