Police to deliver foods in lockdown areas

The local administration at Shibchar in Madaripur district has locked down four areas to prevent coronavirus spread in the locality. During this period police will deliver the regular supply of food items to people at home if phone calls are made.

The information was delivered by Dhaka range Additional DIG Nure Alam Mina at an emergency press conference at Shibchar police station on Friday.

The lockdown areas are- 2 wards of Shibchar municipality, one village of Panchchar union and one village of South Baheratala union. Most of the shops in the area are closed at the moment.

At the press conference Nure Alam Mina said, most of the inhabitants have been asked to remain isolated. If anybody needs food items, in that case if people phone to police then they will deliver the food items with help of public representatives. Besides, in every area separate committees were formed comprising local representatives. These committees will work to keep the overseas returnees under compulsory home quarantine.

Meanwhile, people’s representatives, health department, police and district administration are in field. Additional police forces were deployed in the said four areas to strengthen to security measures.
