A delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is scheduled to meet with Dr Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the interim government, on Wednesday, April 16. The meeting will take place around noon at the State Guest House Jamuna, which serves as the Chief Advisor's residence.
The BNP Chairperson's Press Wing confirmed the news on Tuesday, stating that the delegation will be led by the party's Secretary General.
According to party sources, the discussions are expected to focus on a clear roadmap for the upcoming national elections and efforts to eliminate confusion surrounding the electoral process. The BNP also aims to gain a better understanding of the government's position on the election and discuss the overall political situation in the country.
Additionally, the BNP is set to hold another meeting the following day, April 17, with the National Consensus Commission to address reform-related issues.
Previously, on April 9, BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed remarked that uncertainty around the election has been growing. "We will request a clear and specific roadmap from the Chief Advisor regarding the election," he stated.
