Israel Starts Ground Offensive in Lebanon
After carrying out airstrikes in various locations, including Beirut, and assassinating Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, occupying Israel has now launched a ground offensive in Lebanon. Israeli media reports that Israeli tanks and forces have already entered southern Lebanon, and airstrikes continue simultaneously.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that their troops have begun a "limited, local, and targeted ground assault" against Hezbollah's targets and infrastructure in southern Lebanon. These Hezbollah facilities, located near the Blue Line, pose an immediate threat to Israeli cities.
Earlier, on Monday night, the occupying Israeli security council approved the ground offensive in Lebanon. At that time, it was announced that the next phase of the war against Hezbollah had been authorized.
Before the formal announcement of the ground offensive, Israeli forces carried out heavy air and artillery strikes in the border regions of Lebanon. It was speculated that these intense attacks were to pave the way for the entry of ground troops into Lebanon.
According to U.S. media outlet Axios, the occupying Israeli security council has approved a limited and short-term ground offensive in Lebanon. Additionally, the media outlet claims that Israel has no plans to capture northern Lebanon.
Israel has named its new ground operation in Lebanon "Operation Northern Arrows." The Israeli forces have stated that the offensive is being conducted in coordination with ground, air, and artillery forces.
