The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have announced that they will continue launching attacks on Iran.
According to a live update from the BBC on Saturday (June 14), the IDF released a brief statement on Telegram, saying: "Strikes are being carried out on targets in Iran that pose a threat to Israel. Our objective is to eliminate all threats against Israel."
Earlier, on the night of June 12, Israel suddenly began airstrikes on Iran under an operation named Operation Rising Lion. During the operation, Israeli forces attacked various military facilities, nuclear research centres, and residential structures in Iran, including the capital, Tehran.
Among the casualties were Iran's Armed Forces Chief Mohammad Bagheri, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Hossein Salami, Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters commander Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, six nuclear scientists, and at least 78 others.
In retaliation, Iran launched Operation True Promise-3 on Friday night, firing hundreds of missiles. The operation caused significant damage in Israel, resulting in at least four deaths.
As soon as Iran began its missile strikes, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly took shelter in an underground bunker along with his security chief and senior ministers.
