A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants for former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, and 16 others concerning a land allocation corruption case in Purbachal.
The warrants were issued on Thursday (April 10) by Judge Zakir Hossain Galib following a request from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The case involves alleged forgery and illegal allocation of six plots, each measuring ten kathas, totaling 60 kathas of land in favor of Hasina's family.
According to the ACC, the accused abused their power and colluded to secure these plots illegally. The charges fall under corruption offenses and are punishable by law.

This is the first corruption case brought by the interim government's commission against Sheikh Hasina and her family. The ACC has stated that further legal action will follow against others involved in the land allocation process.
