A full report has been submitted for the first time to the tribunal by the investigation agency regarding the Chankharpool massacre and the killing of student Anas during the anti-discrimination movement on August 5 in Dhaka. This marks the first comprehensive report on the July-August series of killings.
The report, naming eight accused individuals, was officially submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Monday.
Chief Prosecutor Tazul Islam stated that the investigation into the Chankharpool killings has concluded, with eight people identified as accused. He also revealed on Sunday that evidence has emerged linking 45 individuals to the July-August massacres, including Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, and several leaders of the 14-party alliance.
Tazul added that the investigation is nearing completion. Substantial evidence has been collected, including testimonies and documentation, pointing to acts of genocide, planned violence, and crimes against humanity.
He emphasised that the findings clearly show the accused used state power to commit violence against innocent civilians.
