Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman said, about 18 thousand 5 hundred candidates who came out successful in the ‘Gha’ unit admission test of the university, have to sit for examination again.
The decision came in after the matter was discussed more than two hours on Tuesday in the Dean committee meeting of the university, he said.
Professor Akhtaruzzaman said, the Dean committee meeting was scheduled to start at 12:30 pm. The meeting took place for two hours. Detail discussions were held there. About 18 thousand 5 hundred candidates came out successful in the ‘Gha’ unit admission test. Deans of different faculties suggested for taking another test for them. Deans for the charge of coordinator and joint coordinator will sit and decide for the date of the test and later the information will be delivered to the media.
The admission test of DU ‘Gha’ unit was held on October 12. Allegation of question leak arose at that time. Different sections criticized the decision of admission test taking and publishing results. Demand was also raised from different groups to cancel the test.
In this circumstance Dhaka University authority informed about their decision to retake the test for successful candidates.
But the university authority from the very beginning was denying the allegation of question leak.
