The High Court has ordered not to arrest or harass six people including The Daily Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman and associate editor Anisul Haque in connection with a case filed over the incident of death of Dhaka Residential Model College ninth grader Nayeemul Abrar (15).
The High Court bench comprising Justice Obaidul Hasan and Justice AKM Zahirul Haque passed such order on Sunday afternoon after partial hearing of their bail petition. The full fledged hearing will be held over the petition on Monday.
After hearing the bail petition of the six people Lawyer Barrister M Ameer Ul Islam delivered the information to the newsmen.
The other four bail petitioner are- senior assistant editor of Kishor Alo Mohitul Alam, Prothom Alo head of event and activation Kabir Bakul, executive Shah Paran Tushar and executive Shubhashis Pramanik.
Mentionable, on January 16, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Md. Kaysarul Islam issued arrest warrant against 10 persons including Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman, Kishor Alo editor and writer Anisul Haque.
