He stressed the importance of a neutral interim government that implements necessary reforms before holding elections.

According to him, a fair election will pave the way for a legitimate government and restore peace in the country.

Speaking at a memorial event on the Pilkhana massacre at the Engineers Institution auditorium in Ramna, Dhaka, Mirza Fakhrul urged political parties to refrain from mud-slinging and unnecessary disputes that could weaken national unity.

He claimed that BNP is being targeted with misinformation and called on party leaders and activists to remain patient and resist such conspiracies.

Reflecting on the 2024 mass uprising, he praised the military for acting with patriotism. He accused Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League of orchestrating conspiracies against the country and attempting to undermine the outcome of the movement.

He further alleged that Sheikh Hasina is continuing these plots from India and stated that resentment towards Mujib and the Awami League has been growing since 1972.

Earlier in the day, Mirza Fakhrul paid tribute to the martyred military officers and personnel at the military cemetery in Banani, Dhaka, as part of National Martyr Soldiers' Day.

He alleged that under the leadership of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and with Awami League's involvement, a brutal two-day massacre took place in Pilkhana. Describing it as a "black day" for the military, he claimed that 57 skilled officers were murdered as part of a plot to destabilize national security.

Despite these grievances, he acknowledged the government's decision to officially recognize the day and extended his condolences to the families of the slain military personnel.
