Dengue Claims Another 8 Lives

Eight more people have died due to dengue in the last 24 hours. 1,134 people have been admitted to the hospital so far.

This was informed in the dengue report of the Department of Health on Saturday (November 9).

It is said that 388 people from Dhaka City Corporation and the rest are outside Dhaka among those who were admitted to the hospital due to dengue in the last 24 hours. Among the eight killed, five are in Dhaka City, two in Barisal Division, and one in Chattogram Division. At this time, 980 people were discharged from the hospital.

So far this year, 71,056 people have been admitted to hospital due to dengue. Among them, 66,273 people got clearance. 350 people died.

Atiqur Rahman, a specialized doctor at DMCH said that dengue is not seasonal now, it happens all year round. It is increasing when it starts raining. In addition to the use of anti-mosquito drugs for the prevention of dengue, the City Corporation should conduct campaigns everywhere. At the same time, everyone should be aware of it.

Entomologist Dr. Manjur Chowdhury says that appropriate measures should be taken with proper manpower by carrying out the survey properly.

It should be noted that in the history of 2023, 3,21,179 patients were affected by dengue and 1,705 people died.
